Robeson Shuredge Barlow Restoration

Post by orvet »

Here is a Robeson Shuredge Barlow I picked up for rebuilding at the OKCA show in April. Of course these had strawberry bone handles that couldn’t be matched, but I cam as close as I could. There is some color variation in the handles, especially in good light.
I am still experimenting with leather pocket pouches for knives I customize, so I included one made for this Barlow.

One of my grandsons graduated high school last Saturday. Besides a card with a picture of a dead president in it, (Grant) he got the Barlow. It was hard to tell, but I think he liked Barlow better than Grant.

I remembered before pics this time! ::ds::

I didn't do a lot of fancy stuff, just cleaned it up, polished the springs inside, put on new bone and made the pouch.

Nice work Dale! I like the way the bone runs so smoothly into the bolsters, nice fit and finish! ::tu::

Man, I sure do like the look on that new bone. What a great gift! I got one like that, it's in much rougher shape. Think I will tweak it a bit and throw it in my pocket.

Beautiful!
