Old 110 finish

Hoyt Buck produced the first Buck Knife in 1902. Hoyt and his son Al moved to San Diego and set up shop as H.H. Buck & Son in 1947. Al Buck revolutionized the knife industry in 1964 with the infamous Model 110 Folding Hunter. The company's innovative history and attention to quality have made for many great collectible knives.

Hi, does anyone know if Buck put a thin finish on the 110, I guess it would be around 1976, when it had 3 small headed inlay rivets, over the years I have had two or three that looked like they had a very thin finish, it looked like you were looking thru a thin glossy layer, the brass would still get tarnish spots where it had scratches, I know Buck doesn't like wasting money and it seems like they wouldent do something like that, but I had more than one at different times. Gerber put a thin finish on the FS lockbacks that looked like it around the same time, they put a slip of paper saying you could remove it with alcohol.
