Great Eastern's 2006 First Year

Here are some photo's of the 2006 GEC First Years production. Many Thanks to all the distributor's, dealers, and sellers who helped me put a set together and also a set for my son except for 2 knives. Those being a Casein and an un-numbered Chocolate Bone, which are not likely to be found. I'm really happy about how all this came together.

Thanks Guys, I was trying to put all the 2006 GEC knives in ONE place, I hope I got them correct so that all can see what they look like. Please let me know if I erred.

There is one knife that was given to me by a very generous seller and I will send this knife to my son after I finished this long overdue photo shoot.

This is a 1 of 500 NKCA Youth Knife that was given to my son through me, I sure appreciate it and I know he'll like it. We talked knives a lot of the summer while he was here. I can see him pointing out the things we discussed about GEC knives and why they are #1 in my book as a collectable as well as a user, sans the 2006 and limited editions.

This is a finely made knife using a clip blade, where the beavertail uses the spey blade.

Do you have any count on unserialized Tobacco or Bacote #73's? I have both but thought they were overrun's.

If you have 2006 knives that do not have a number you may want to get hold of Bill Horn or Perry Miller as they purchased a lot of knives when GEC first started, I think Bill Horn got the most of any distributor.

Anything over 250 in the first year was considered regular production and not numbered. As far as I knew only a chocolate bone went over 250, it's certainly possible that others did.

Sheffield Tobacco 73 was from the Great Eastern Brand had 177 knives and there are still some for sale.

The Bocote 73 was a Tidioute brand and only 78 were made. None that I know of for 2006 tang stamps went unserialized and I don't know of any that are for sale other than 2007 tang stamps, once those pass 350 for 2007, I think it was, the serial numbers will stop.

I would ask those guy's maybe even both about unserialized 2006 knives. Let us know what developes, I would be interested and I think others will be too.

If they are 2006, they would be rare birds for sure!

Well I have been a distributor for some time and accumulating via management before that. Thus all my GEC's have come directly from the factory. I have several un-serialized models, and the packing slip that notes them as such. My understanding was the same as yours, in that they were what was made up before they got the workers to stop for the day.

Wow, thanks for the new "wrinkle". I don't know if Ryan would know, but I do believe he's in charge of sales. Maybe you got the only ones? That may be a small gold mine you've got if they are all 2006. Keep us posted, you may have to reach Bill Howard or Kenneth Daniels. I am really suprised

These are 2006 tang stamped, not 2007? I saw Your site, Oh-Boy, another site for Great Easterns. Well, I've purchased Bulldogs there, so.......

Great job Hukk!! (and nice pics too!). You're a better hunter than me. The chocolate bone and the cassein have eluded me, and I think they probably will for a long time, but I'll get 'em yet
