Ideas As To The Maker On This One?

Guys,
Take a look at the photos of this one and see if you can determine the maker. The tang stamp is so badly worn I can't make much of it. The construction seems good and it is bored for a bail. Length is 3 1/2 inches.
Any info appreciated!

Have you tried a pencil rub, Ray? Or a bright light at the correct angle?

The pen blade appears to say "Sheffield" on the tang.

I tried the pencil rub and the bottom word is CUTLERY.

I first thought Sheffield also but there was a definite 'T' in it. I am able to see the word Cutlery but I cannot make out the word on the top line. Just too far gone I guess.

The knife looks to be early pre 30's U.S. made with the long pulls on both blades. That is a very unique looking shield that might help identify it. Is there any sign of a pattern number?

I've been looking at that mark for awhile now and I believe it may be Schrade Walden.
EDIT: Look at the Schrade chart in the tang stamp post in this forum and look at the second stamp from the left on the top row. Schrade(in an arc) Cutlery Co. Walden NY.

After I did the pencil trick at Tom's suggestion, I can clearly make out CUTLERY and in all the Schrade stamps they abbreviate it to CUT (CO). I wish it could be determined to be a Schrade.
