i know the seller is one of "them".
all my reference books, including the new parker guide list a wood 10 dot 6250 for the normal price range - $100 - $175. why is this knife selling for this much money? what am i missing?

If the seller says the market value is 225-390...why is the price up to 655? I don't get it.

Also...what do you mean by "them"? Am I missing some inside thing?

Seller is one to make extravagent sales pitches in my observations and many won't buy from him. Seems like he would sell ice to eskimo's if he could turn a profit.

That's just an opinion I get from reading the Dude's packages.

He usually has some picth, possibly there is something he may of overlooked on this knife, but I'm told that may be a first.

He probably has 10 of these knives, so he has his shill bidders bid up the price on the first, so next time the less experienced collectors might actually believe thats what it worth, and on the next one,he can say "i saw one go for 700 bucks last week",

In days of old, "they" were called snake oil salesmen; nowadays, just snakes!

I've tried and tried to warn people (buyers) about this guy, to no avail. He keeps coming up with more knives and new or overzealous buyers. There is no doubt he also shills.

I'm guilty of overpaying for knives (you know, that one you just have to have), but what goes on in this guy's auctions is just wrong.

I see this seller has hit the "Head Lines" once again, America's most wanted (in the hobby anyway ) ....There are other sellers out there that are not so well known that use misrepresentation also friends that are not as dramatic but use false claims to draw in a rookie that does not "know the know" on what they are buying. Yeah, the Bulldog is all wrong. It should have a bowtie shield, if it were a Prototype. The shield thats on there is from 1995 production BKC 1013. Prototypes had a bowtie shield and they ARE NOT RARE! They used 30 different celluloids with 7 of each celluloid and that makes 210 PROTOTYPES! That goes to show you why I customized my prototype in addition to cracked celluloid, currently my avatar, not much longer since my son has it.

In a nutshell the Bulldog is a FAKE. It is a PRODUCTION BKC 1013, 1 of 84 with phony Protyotype engraving.

FAKE!

EDIT: By the book Prototypes had a Reverse frosted Pit Bull etch. I'm not sure the book is correct, the one I had in the avator had a bowtie shield but an African Elephant etch. The book does not list a celluloid for this only Pearl. You can BET I wouldn't remove pearl, the production one books at $300.00!

The only thing missing here ia a picture of some side show snake oil peddler complete with a hooked cane to draw them suckers in. I don't buy from him, and he can't buy from me. I blocked him and all off his shill bidders a while back. Had to warn a friend of mine the other day about a knife that he was interested in bidding on. He thought it was a Case Classic Trapper. The listing title said Classic Case, and had a picture of a stag stockman with a Case Classic box. Further on in the listing it said it was a Trapper, when in fact it wasn't. The stag was like we will never see the likes of again soooo bid now.......bid to win....bid like hell you dummies!!!!!

I hate Ebays thing with replacing names with actual bidding histories with numbered bidders. No good seems to come of it. Always makes me suspicious.

good luck, the new system almost guarantees sellers a way to hide shill bidding and makes ebay more $.
they claim the new system protect big $ bidders from fraudulent second chance offers. is that rain?, or is ebay pi**ing on us.

I think eBay is trying to get rid of the Good ole Boy system. The don't step on your buddy's bid. Seller with shill bidders are just drooling over this. How can you beat it? ONLY DO SNIPE BIDDING, BID ONCE WITH YOUR HIGHEST IN THE LAST 10 SECONDS. I think you could see how it could work.

Just checking Damascus Dude's feedback, he has 892 members reporting but a whopping total of 2475 total feedbacks.

That means a lot of the same people are buying his knives. Some of these guys would have to have really deep pockets. Does this seem at all strange to anyone?

Classic Case you are exactly right. That knife is definitely not a Classic. Wrong shield, not a 1050, and it has the lightening SS'S. I guess the bottom line with eBay is they don't care what he does, even if it's fraud, as long as they get their fees. What a shame, it's too bad their priorities are just about the money. I'm sure people have complained about him, but it doesn't do any good.

I recieved a nice little email from Ebay. They will invesitgate. They do remind me that some bidders find a seller they trust and buy nearly exclusively from him. Perhaps that is so in this case. Perhaps not.
