I carry this the most. It's an Imperial that I got for 4 or 5 bucks on ebay. It was pretty much mint. I got it so I don't have to beat up my pretty knives. It's been doing a pretty good job.

With a nod to Tanto Tuesday I present a big fat clunky Kershaw Tone.

I've been carrying this GEC Tidioute #54 Harness Jack every day since I got it 8 days ago...really loving this knife. It is about the most rock solid slipjoint I own...great snap both ways on the spear point main as well as on the punch, and the handle fills the hand perfectly. It has some definite heft to it, and I like knowing it is there in my pocket. Have been using it for everything from mushroom hunting, food prep, box & package opening, rope, twine, etc etc. Haven't run into a task yet that can't be handled by the blade/punch combo. Big thumbs up on this one for EDC.
Bottom pic was taken the day it arrived...it has since began to slowly take on the first stages of a light patina...

-that's a beauty. Are the scales "dished"? I have the same knife in smooth burned bone, and the scales are.313 Mike wrote:I've been carrying this GEC Tidioute #54 Harness Jack every day since I got it 8 days ago...really loving this knife. Thanks Sandy...Not sure what you mean by "dished"....there are some definite nooks and crannies if that is what you are referring to!

Nice knife Mike
I've been carrying my #54 big jack almost exclusively. I agree with the heft, feel in hand and in my pocket. Just about the perfect EDC IMO
Here's mine and the other pretty regular edc. It took on a nice natural patina

On mine, the scales get thinner towards the center of the handle. They start at the same height as the bolsters at the bolsters, then thin down at the center.313 Mike wrote:sandycross wrote:-that's a beauty. Are the scales "dished"? Oh, ok..nope, the scales on mine are not dished, pretty well even down the entire length of the knife.

I have that same Kershaw Tone in my shorts pocket. But it has the deep hide clip off the Kershaw Shuffle I got at Academy today which I needed like another hole in my head!
