Union cut co.
Has any one seen this blade combination on a military knife? or does it look like an old fix.

It is an odd combination to me also, however, the knife was commonly produced for the navies of the world. You frequently see old Case (pre-Tested mainly) knives in this configuration.
Check out Sargents 7th Edition page 83 for an example.

Knives such as this are generally accepted to have been produced for the U. S. Navy circa WWI time period.
They can be found with a regular pen blade, but in my experience the manicure blade is much more common.
I saw a very nice Case knife like these on Ebay this past week with a near $600.00 starting bid, although no one started the auction before it ended.
Go figure.

Maybe they'll re-list this one on Ebay.

Re: Union cut co.
Could be wrong but I believe the main blade on all the above shown are razor blades intended for shaving when a regular straight razor is not available. That fits with the manicure blade. The knives are designed for personal grooming.

Levine's guide 4 pg.202 lists 14 companies that made these seamens jack knives during WW1. I believe the small blade was used mainly as an ink scraper. I have a Catt. in mint condition and have seen several Imperials in very used condition. Dave
