Grn Bn 5 blade trapper, run and snap up or not

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Grn Bn 5 blade trapper, run and snap up or not

Post by Grump01 »

Ran across a I believe (Forgot to check #) 6554SS (4 Dot 1996) Green Jigged Bone 5 blade Trapper w/ I think original box priced at $99 (could ask if would go lower) Saturday. Green Bone is hand written on the label on the box and I didn't get the item # and label looks different than now, but not sure what correct period should look like. Being a novice I think I'd call it Mint. Coloring looks good to me, etc. Sooner State has one like it, Mint no box for $150. What does everyone think???? Should I run tomorrow and snag it before it's gone????

If you like it enough at that price and are willing to buy it, then why not? One important aspect of collecting knives is in obtaining what appeals to us. OH

Ps. Sounds like "The Beast" that were made by Case for Shepherd Hills in 1996; see linked article about Back in 1972 along Route 66.

Pps. Price wise it sounds right in there with this one on e-bay.
