eBay's concern for endangered species

It appears that eBay has jumped on the Animal Rights Bandwagon to protect the endangered Mammoth species. They have yanked every Case Classic made with mammoth ivory, apparently in a desperate attempt to save this magnificent species from further extinction. Sadly, the latest victim to fall prey to this is unfortunately Mr. DD. What will eBay do next? Will it be abalone, or mother of pearl they try to save? Better yet Sandbar Stag! Yes, that's it the infamous Sandbar Stag!

It would appear the uninformed tree hugging left, has control of the data base at eBay. For every stupid decision they make, don't they understand there will be 5 million creative minds re-listing the same items with a new title. They will have to read countless ads to eliminate stuff like; "pretty cream color handles, from elephant parts"

But seriously, Ebay has done this sorta thing before. I had a tortoise shell celluloid handled knife taken off once because it was considered an endangered species.

Those damn Cave men did the damage and we're still paying the price!

Just received a message form fleabay regarding their pulling the plug on my mammoth ivory knife. They said I could not sell internationally ie, Canada. Seems to me they got plenty of wooly mammoths running around up there. So I guess I can rellist it, just not to Canada.

Come to think of it I have seen PKCS (Parkers) and others making statments for several years now about not shipping ivory to Canada in their catalogs.

3 or 4 years ago, a friend of mine got suspended from eBay for 3 months, for listing a Case trapper with KKK handles on it. eBay told him that KKK items were strictly not allowed. I guess, at most any time, you can find a hundred or more, KKK listings on the site.
Apparently, eBay relies on private watchdog groups, to monitor the auctions. The same guy got busted again, for listing a badge, even though it was obsolete and given a warning. It looks like once these groups starts watching you, they ride your butt, forever.
They got me, for trying to sell a cap gun, in the original packaging, made in the 50's because it did not have an orange, plastic plug in the barrel. What was I supposed to do? Open the original package and put a non-original plug in the barrel? About a month later, they warned me about the key cutter that I have since sold. No suspension, just warnings.
I wish somebody would come up with a site that could compete with eBay. They are getting WAAAY to big for their britches. I understand that you have to have rules, but if I can't sell the cap pistol I mentioned earlier, how can they let DD get away with what he does?
Just my thoughts. What do ya'll think?

I think what is surprising is all the items they sell to convert semi-automatic rifles into fully automatic.
Also eBay's own listings rules prohibit the sale of magazines that will hold over 10 rounds. How do they sell them:
1. Saw a drum for a .45 "tommy gun" listing says will hold 10 rounds,

yeah and a bunch more.

2. Saw these all the time, M1 Carbine Magazine WWII K 'SG' K for Keller Brass 'SG' for Saginaw Grand Rapids (all the WWII had such codes) will hold 10 rounds, yes it will with 5 more every time, unless you were fortunate enough to get a prototype, they held 20.

Or if it was for an M2 it will hold 30 in a bannana Clip.

I just took a look at some magazine listings, must be 15 or 20 and some say: I will not ship to California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Mass, New Jersey, New York or any other state that that has similiar regulations so please do not bid if you are from those states.

The regulation is that these states allow only 10 round magazines and some 5 round magazines. BUT since it is WWII, it's OK to own in Ca.

By golly there is enough parts to make a couple of M2's.

3. Yes, I got caught up in that tortoise, I forgot the word celluloid.

They really have no idea of some of the stuff they are selling!

Ebay has lost its collective mind. I had to pull a little Buck knife that had 'ivory' micarta. When I took Canada off the 'sells to' list, everything went thru OK.

I used to have that problem. Now when I list anything on eScrew that may be questionable; I list it under a buying ID that has less that 100 feedbacks. Switchblades, butterflys, KKK (stuff before 1940), being doing it for several years now since I found out how it works there. Nothing has been pulled yet.

A "PINK" told me this several years ago.

Ivory (or anything else banned) is the key-word. When your auction gets reported, eJive may or maynot even looked at it. Either way its gets pulled, even if a worker there does looked it over.

I was told it could be my/your competition, another seller of the same item or just some jerk doing it for spite.

That is when I started using my current technique
