Kershaw 1850 Tyrade question.

Kershaw began its foray into the knife business sometime during 1974. The company was originally based in Portland Oregon, but most early knives were manufactured in Japan. The first US manufacturing plant was opened in 1997 & the company currently offers knives made in the U.S., Japan, & China. Pete Kershaw (an ex Gerber salesman) started the business.

Kershaw 1850 Tyrade question.

Post by wizrd »

In 2008 I bought one of these - and just recently have been looking for another one. The one I originally bought I decided to put aside & not use it - just seemed like an exceptional knife to me.

Looking for one the other day, I came across one on ebay - asking price $ 1,000.00 !!!? -- Has this knife turned into the the legendary, mystical 'Excalibur'? - or am I missing something here. I'm thinking I may as well give up looking for another one for a user.

I found one on ebay with a bid (Reserve Not Met yet) and a BUIN price of $1,000.00

Previous ones have sold for $200 to $300.

Probably a discontinued knife.

Yeah, those "older" USA discontinued models can bring a pretty penny ::tu::

You can still find the Tyrade for $350.00 at Country Knives.
