I don't think BGC had anything to do with this knife, like the seller states.
Looks like it was made offshore to me!!

this is the answer i got when i asked the country of origin and told him bgc did not manufacture the case classic line.

Typical 1970's era "fantasy" fake. These and similar knives were imported by the zillions with both Remington and Winchester tang stamps, among others.

BG never offered any leg knife patterns...an email to them might get proof that could be shoved up this seller's a**. On the other hand, I don't know how respnsive BG is to requests for info.

Is there a way I can block a seller, or at least have a notification that the seller is not one I trust? Or do I have to keep a separate list somewhere of sellers with an attitude?

You can block up to 1000 people on eBay I think it is. I have seceral blocked. I've seen this guy sniping all over the place.

Another one to avoid is rwmandson.
They sell chinese junk but call it Rite Edge USA.

When the knife doesn't work, they actually replaced it with another knife worse than the first. Now they won't do anything about it. The response I got back was in broken English. But supposedly they are in KY.

Guys,

Still new on the collecting of Slipjoints. Have a couple of books and definitely hanging out at sites like this have been very helpful. Still have a lot to learn. Ebay is a wonderful place to find knives both good and bad.

Seems to me it might be pretty helpful to start a sticky. The sticky would cover people that sell fake knives, sell knives that have been restored but don't say that, don't furnish accurate descriptions on condition, etc..,

I think there may be some legal issues around posting any permanent type of list. Branding someone, even if there are many who seem to "deserve" it, seems like it may be opening a can of worms.

I personally feel it may be best to contiue to discuss them on an individual basis, as the items come up for sale, or based on individual experiences of our members.

That is, however, just my opinion.

Sorry, not very clear on that. By my statement that we need to make a list, I mean we, individually need to make our own lists and ocassionally share information when needed on say a suspect knife. It would br wreckless and irresponsible to keep such a list on any site. El Lobo er Bill is right, there could be legal ramifications.
