I have this #46 for use as an EDC. Still haven't got a sheath made up for it but have been using it to open packages and
do some work in the kitchen. It's no chef's knife but holds a killer edge and works for food prep better than I expected
it to. Even with the wide and short blade it slices and dices quite well.....removing some of the silver skin from the venison
would have been easier with a slimmer, pointed blade.....but like my other GEC's in 1095, it takes a razor edge and that makes
any task much easier. So far, so good with this pattern......can't wait to get a few more miles on her.

Great pics Trevor, thanks for sharing! I can certainly appreciate seeing a knife used in the kitchen, most all of mine end up doing some kitchen duty eventually!
Hey by the way, don't I recall you having replaced the shield on that 46 at some point? Great looking knife!

Thanks guys......and Yes Mike, I had the shield replaced.....it had GEC's Bull's Head shield on it originally. I wanted the look of an old Platt's E-Toe and Kaleb did a great job on it for me.

The knife looks good but the 3 pictures look like you were about to indulge in some venison stew! That's the 3 main ingredients, onions, taters, and Bambi ! Just showed the pictures to Miss Joy and she approved and she commented, "Is that the only knife he's got?" Women!! Them GEC's are starting to grow on me just a little bit.

Rex I could have used that Lumberjack this week when I helped a friend clean up a wild hog he shot, but the 42 Trader did OK.

It surprised me the way blood seemed to blue the blade...

I ordered a second #42 in Olive Drab Linen Micarta for the EDC pile. It arrived today and the lockup is tight. GEC Stainless holds it's edge very well and these #42's are a great size at 4 1/4" closed.
