While I sit here in the desert vortex of ridiculous and subhuman, self important existence, I am reminded of one thing only. The simplicity and quiet grace of a pocket knife is still the best way to bring one back to earth and make you feel peaceful among the madness, and draw you closer to your own memories of the grand folks who came before us. The time spent in serious thought about how a tool would be constructed, used and carried over a lifetime. Nothing so completely draws more thought and memory than a good old pocket knife in your hands. So today I carry this beat up old Shapleigh D&E celluloid, flush at all points and still takes a great edge.

With all due respect Perry, I love what you have written except for the first sentence. I realize and respect that this is your opinion. However, we may have members that reside in Vegas that may take offense to the "subhuman" and other comments in the first sentence. I don't live in Vegas but I do live in Nevada and in the desert. Some great and not so great people reside here just like anywhere else in the US. No offense but Nashville is not a bed of roses either as I have been there more than a few times.singin46 wrote:While I sit here in the desert vortex of ridiculous and subhuman, self important existence, I am reminded of one thing only.
