Knife Year & Birth Year

Post by justold52 »

I am looking for a knife that was made in YEAR 1948.
That is the year I was born in too.... ::smirk::

One that just started new line. Not need to be Prototype.
Just want a knife that was born in the same year I was.
Schrade would be loved mostly.
Did they make any Schrade Scrimshaw in 1948 ?

Show use your BIRTH KNIFE if you have one.

After this we all might want a Birth Knife for our kids to pass on... 8)

Ken;
You are a lucky individual. You were born in a year that there was an identifiable knife produced that year.(There may be more but I only know of one.) You being one who is able to research and dig into the past should be able to come up with the name of the maker. Contact me when you do and I will find one for you to purchase.

Bil Bil Bill;
You have really perplexed this poor old soul. You are referring to a jar of strained green BEAN are you not. No my bed faces port and starboard so I must have gotten up on the aft side.

GEEEE I was out of town when you all posted and did not get it until now.

The best I can make out of what you are leading me to is a Garber knife made in 1948 ?

Tell me more about it and do you have one ??

I am very surprised that some one like Parker or others have now come up with a set of knife using the birth stones for handles yet... :lol:

::idea:: ...Or should I be the first to make a million bucks for just thinking of it ?

Ken
I don't know what a garber knife is, so I will accept you are saying gerber. Yes I know how to id a 1948 gerber and I have several. I am
sorry but I do not understand what a birthstone would have to do with the year a knife was made. I am pretty sure that would refer to the month of your birth. Should you want more info send a PM or Email, I think this would fall under personal and I don't think we would want to bore the members of this forum with it.

Mitch;
A quick question. How did "Little Richard" know about her fifteen years before she was born?

OK so now you know for sure I am not good with word... :lol:

You have 12 birth stones. I believe that's right.

If you could come up with scales for a knife that look like those 12 stones then you could call them BirthStone Knives.

It a sales marketing thing that no one has picked up on that I know of.

Or one special knife each year with a birthstone handle for 12 years.

In my case I what a knife that just came out or started in the year of 1948

I hope this clears this up some.

OK, OK...

The song by MITCH Ryder was a compilation of Little Richard (Penniman)'s Jenny, Jenny...and the song C. C. Rider, done by many. It was actually called "Jenny take a Ride."

http://www.guntheranderson.com/v/data/jennytak.htm

I just used it so I could put MITCH in there. :mrgreen:

Besides, I'm not old enough to remember Little Richard's version. I thought he just did commercials. ::nod:: ::shrug::

Nothing to do with knives is boring or personal (only wives) on this forum.
