Wow! That knife looks older than the hills. Blade looks French in design but I really don't have a clue. Very intricate construction so I would say factory or artisan made. What is the closed length? Is it as heavy as it looks? Any marks of any kind anywhere on it?

Old and interesting for sure. I hope someone has a good answer because you have me interested.

I can't see the other side of the knifes blade? One thing I noticed no nail nicks most likely some type of spring loaded knife possibly a paratrooper knife? How long is the knife closed? Does the sheath fit the knife? I would say the knife is german if if there was no swastka pin.

What a neat old knife. Can't tell you much about it but the shield would indicate made in Germany, WWII ::shrug::

Well, based on btrwtr's information, if the knife goes with the pouch and pin, I would say 1934 to 1945-46, though it does look older than that. ::shrug:: Maybe from WWI?

You are welcome.....there seemed to be some real interest in the knife so when I ran across it for sale I wanted to make sure our AAPK Members got to see it, and had a chance to bid or make you an offer. Good luck with your listing and please let us know how it works out if you take an offer.
