So the 24 knife EDC leather folder is all filled up with this newly pulled from the collection knife. I saved the best for last. I don't mean to ramble but this knife is real special to me. I had some knives when I was younger, can't remember what exactly. I am sure CASE though as that is what we used exclusively in my family.
I do remember this old/new EDC though. Interestingly, in the many knives I have, it is the only CASE Scout 45 pattern I own.
My Dad took me to a flea market in Friendship, Indiana 40 years ago while on a family trip when I was 9 years old. He bought this brand new 1974’ CASE 6445R Scout for me as a gift for $14. He kept meticulous records as to the knives and guns he owned, prices paid, etc, thru out his life and I mean every one he owned with no exceptions. As a 9 year old, I was obviously pretty damn excited and proud to have the knife. I carried it for a few months or so. I thought it was long lost as my Dad never mentioned it. He passed away 2 years ago and I found it. Same knife marked in his records as "CASE Scout- Bone Friendship, Indiana- 1974’". He probably took it away from me if I had done something stupid but more likely to make sure someday, when older and more responsible than a 9 year old, I still had it. I am grateful he did.

Although I carried this knife before briefly years ago, this is the first time it has been carried by me (or anyone) in 40 years. Slipped it into my pocket this morning. Certainly an old friend with great memories attached. The knife is still near mint with a few specks. Also have the 10 dot 6233 I got from a valued friend.

I collect only CASE and normally EDC the same. I do however have a few Bucks I carry on occasion.

Both of these were gifts from members and more importantly, good friends.
