what is this??? someone shoot me

remember this little yellow knife i had shown here that was neet and YELLOW and CASE with seemingly ODD stamp..
well i've got another crazy question about it. please look at pics and tell me what it looks like just past the E ..
I know the pics are rotten and I have a very good camera but I dont know how to use it ..
But this knife is driving me nuts, so much to the point, i'm gonna toss it if i dont find out if it is real or FAKE..
I sent pics of it to mr. bernard levine and he gave me an app.. of what it was.. he thinks its real but never seen one like it, but he did not see the 4..
anyway i was cleaning it up to sell it and what i thought was a smudge
began to confusse me so i put it under my big magnafing glass and wiped the tang with some windex on a soft cloth.
and when the smudge came clean, it was the number 4 under it ..
I know it is hard it see in the pics. but i swear it is a 4 and i can see it now with out being under glass..
Anyway i put off sale untill i find more out ..
It may not be anything but a pitt in tang but if you could see it up close you would agree with me, it's a stinking 4..
Please, Dont laff to hard at my stupidity.. for claming this, but lets talk about this for a bit and some one may suggest that i my quit bother them ,, and i will understand..

Completely authentic stamp.....my guess is that the tang had gotten pitted with rust, and someone cleaned the pitting off, leaving some deep marks that would not come out witout removing the letters.
