After more than a year of looking but not buying, last night I finally pulled the trigger on a #53 Cuban Castro done up in Dead Skunk. Since that handle pattern varies so much with the individual knife, of the several that are available, I chose the one at Blue Creek Cutlery. I've never dealt with them before but if they ship today, I'll be impressed with them right out of the gate. Gonna try to not get my hopes up though. ::skeptic::

Thanks Ryan. I had the knife bookmarked so didn't see the site's home page. Everyone ships so quickly these days, I've come to have expectations in spite of trying not to. Under normal circumstances (his not being gone) Monday would have been acceptable with an *.

Then should I change my name to JerryD Bowerbird? It's just the one, Grant. I can't get saddled with a name like that over one knife. ::mdm::

Wow Jerry, two GEC's in a week! You are movin' up in the world my friend. Are we starting down a new path with the accumulation perhaps..? Either way those are some fine lookin' knives you have heading your way. I bet you will be posted by the front window peeking out through the curtains all next week! ::paranoid::

Royal -- You picked a great one for your first GEC. That's another one I'd love to have. Those Boys Knives are the dinktum.

If it'll help any, once I rebuild my knife buying funds, I'll take one of them off your hands so you only feel half guilty.  Anything for a friend.

edit: In fact if your buyers remorse is real bad, I think there's enough change down in the couch to relieve you of one of them now. ::shrug::

You can't go wrong with the #48 diamond jack. ::tu:: Charlie did a nice job on those, from the jigging, to the sabre grind blade. ::ds:: I picked up one for myself and one for someone else as EDCs.

The Diamond Series SFO Radio and Harness Jacks built on the GEC 15 frame with brass frame, N/S bolster, end cap and special shield.

Bill and crew at GEC did an exceptional job on these, and I'm proud to say I drew the design and finished art work for the etch on them by hand (not CAD). ::handshake::
