Camillus Sailor's Knife

Post by smiling-knife »

A recent addition... an older Camillus sailor's (I think) knife. It has the four line stamp and jigged wood scales. Does anyone have any other information e.g., more specifically can the years of production be narrowed down and does it have any military connection? Thanks in advance. :) s-k

Hey SK:
Check out this post,I can't recall(ooops I must be coming down with the Hillaries) If the sailor or rope knife info is there. I bet if you posted it and asked that someone there could give you an answer.

s-k,

May I suggest that you post this in Knife Lore...where CAMCO or Phil Gibbs, both former longtime Camillus employees, do check in?

Just a thought.

Thanks for the responses guys ::tu:: It looks like the knife pictured here and is called a 'Sailor knife for life rafts'. I guess with the rounded end one wouldn't puncture the raft if the knife was dropped. I'll post it there and see what develops. Thanks again.
