I have a ZT301 that developed a rattle when the blade was deployed. When I contacted KAI they aid I could send it in or they would send some parts to me so I could fix it myself without voiding the warranty. After watching a few youtube videos I figured I'd take a wack at it myself It was an easy fix a little grease on the torsion bar did the trick.The amazing thing about the whole deal was KAI sent me every part for the knife except the blade and handles. In fact they sent two of each to me. They also said the rattle wouldn't hurt anything but it annoyed the hell out of me. I'd like to go on record now that ZT/Kershaw is a first class company. They were a pleasure to work with and the parts they sent were first class right down to the PB washers. There's no plastic on the 300 series knives. It was fun to fix but they would have fixed it if I messed it up or if I just didn't feel like doing it. I recommend them to everybody that want's a quality knife from a first rate company

I must have seen the same YouTube video because that is how I fixed the rattle in two of my Leeks
I used Hoppes gun grease on mine, not too much, not too little

I picked up a Kershaw Chive from Scott this week and sent it off today to Kershaw to see if they will fix some of the issues the knife has. The knife is marked 2003 on the blade and it's obviously been carried and used a good bit over the past eleven years.

• It has:
• A broken spring.
• A broken safety.
• Two missing screws and the spacer they went into back by the safety.
• Late lockup.
• Blade rock when in the open position.
• Blade wobble.
• A loose clip (I didn't mention that on the repair form).
• It needs sharpened.

I'll let y'all know how much of that stuff gets fixed when the knife is returned. BTW the blade tip was also bent a small bit but I straightened that before sending it away.

Edit: It turns out I don't know chit about Chives. What I thought was a missing spacer and screws appears to be the lanyard holes on a Chive. They'll get a big laugh out of that at Kai repair.
