Thanks for the nice comments, guys!
What beautiful collections! k7k always has great stuff.
Eyeselect, (my error, sorry) The gold bolsters on that empire sticks out in my mind. Is it real gold? Does it say 14k or 10k anywhere on it? It might have been made before that was required?

knifegirl888,
It doesn't say 14k or anything like that anywhere that I can see. If it is gold it's probably plated.
wlf,
I'm glad that you liked my post. I wonder what would happen today if someone decided to torture small animals to try prove a point. Thanks
Beechtree,
Yes that is a Thomaston knife with the stainless etch. I am very partial to that Empire knife. Thanks.

knife7knut,
Hold on now! I see some abalone mixed in there.
Fun Fact….
Thomas Edison electrocuted small animals to show the world how dangerous it was to use AC (alternating current). He did it in order to discredit his rival Nikola Tesla for the Nobel Prize. Edison and Tesla would have won and shared the prize, but Edison refused to share it. When the Nobel committee caught wind of Edison’s intent to refuse the prize they gave it to Sir William Henry Bragg and William Lawrence Bragg for their work in the analysis of crystal structure using X-rays.

Here is an early Jason Williams folder(#14)with beautiful pearl scales and paua shell inlays and filework. He made this when he was 19 years old. A neat touch is the thumd stud protrudes slightly through the blade and acts as a detent to hold the blade in place when closed.

Just picked up this Walter Bros MOP at an antiques store in NJ. Don't know much about it other than probably pre WW I and probably made in Germany. The small blade has no snap, the main is pretty good.

A pocket knife is still an intimate personal possession of the individual who carries it and consequently deserves the best of materials, finish and workmanship in its production. (Quoted from Boker's 1928 cutlery catalog).

Great vintage knives from everyone.
Here's an old Frye Phipps from Boston. 1901-1920. Says Goins. Never heard of them.
Snappy little thing. Love these small blades. Love these old stamps!
Thanks for looking.
