Hi new to AAPK . Nice site. Hoping some one will have some info on a fixed blade knife that I aquired recently.I believe the stamp is "Lampkough Cutlery" "Shefield England" and on the othe side is "94 3/4 L" Hoping some one with an interest in British Cutlers will help me out.

Re: British Steel Lampkough
Thanks Guys I too sent Lamlouph a note and will post the reply if they respond. Looks like Lamplough just sold other companies knives with thier own name stamped on. Probably pretty common practice with knives and guns. This one is slightly differant in that it is English rather than German. Any thought on Shefield steel from say 40 years ago ?
Thanks again Jack
Thanks again Jack

Re: British Steel Lampkough
So Lamlough got right back to me, pretty cool, this was the reply:
Hello
This hunting knife was purchased and sold by Lamplough beginning in the 60s and stopped in the 90s. It was made in Sheffield England.
Lamplough stopped buying and selling these knives in the mid 90s.
It was a great line of knives.
Regards,
I am still curious about the quality of the steel though.
