Perry I was wondering what that material was it sort of has a "Glowing" aspect to it. I looked up pyremite and read a lot of info from Remington Knives handles. Thanks very interesting.

Agreed, I think it has some of the most interesting qualities to it that they ever produced in celluloid.

Went to the WAC show at the Puyallup fairgrounds today and snagged a no-name custom bowie with what I think is a beautiful patina, bone handle (though it is cracked top and bottom) and a copper pommel. Paid $25 for it.

I like the color of the bone but I'm thinking I need to replace it.

Suggestions?

The patina is definitely beautiful, MountainMan. That bowie would make a fine camp knife.

If it were me I'd leave the handle as is if I were making it a user. That way I wouldn't worry about damaging the handle since it's already got some cracks. If the cracks bother you though, then maybe you could find some nice stag to replace the handle. It'll keep that rustic look that way. I'm sure whatever you decide the knife will look fantastic.

Mother worked today so I hit the fleas gut me a Craftsman 95941 peanut and the guy thru in a rough rider whitler stated pearl handles just plastic glued on handles neat match strike nicks.

We took a quick run over to SE Kansas this last week for my parents 65th wedding anniversary. God bless 'em, I love 'em both and hope they make it another 65!! Personally i'll be happy if I just get to LIVE for 65 years!
I only had time to hit one fleamarket, but came up with these. The Leek's seen some use but deploys perfectly and it'll make a good one to carry. I did have to send a message to Kershaw about getting a new lock assembly for it though, the original is broke but it's an easy fix if I can get the part. The Camco TL-29 is just a good solid example.
All in all we had a great time celebrating and I got to bring home a couple of decent knives for under $20.

Hey WB, it's pretty cool to see an extremely used Rainbow Leek! From the looks of the blade wear, he used it quite a bit. First one I've ever seen in this condition but cool! Hope you can get it fixed.

That's what I thought too, Perry. Whoever used it, gave it up with plenty of life left in it though. I'm thinkin' he just couldn't take any more of the ridicule, atleast it's not one i'd be whippin' out down at a construction site. The only time them fellers use the word pretty is when they're takin' a measurement and it's "pretty" close.

Pay day pawn shop pay off a Schrade 77ot improved muskrat my 1st.a Schrade 55UH and a Italian steletto in horn.

Slow weekend. Scored some old tools, Hawaiian shirts and a couple of vintage tiki mugs at an estate sale and a thrift store. Went to my favorite flea market (7 vendors only) and picked up a rams horn and several small pieces of antler for future use in handles for $2.00 and then picked up this nice little Imperial with really good blades and still intact shell material on it. Got it for $5.00

One of the sides is bent in however and I was wondering if that is something that can be fixed?

It can be somewhat repaired. This involves taking the metal shell off. With a small flathead screwdriver, lift or pry the small pronges at the bolsters. This will remove the shells from the frame of the knife, then the more difficult part starts. Trying to remove the cell off the metal wrap itself. To do this you need to see this thread for pictures and the best guidance to accomplish it.
