Speaking of Remington knives.....
Since I've been trying my hand at rehandling knives, I remembered a Remington "Baby Trapper" I had....made after they moved to North Carolina and changed their tang stamp....and put the gawd awful red and orange handles on them. I thought...."hmmmm, that'd be a good victim to practice on". So, I got it down off the shelf and took a good look at it. Holy crap! The bolsters aren't the same thickness!
Not even close. One is about half as thick as the other! It's so crappy, I wouldn't even think of wasting my time, much less a nice piece of elk antler on it.
It's so bad, I've a mind to send it back to Remington and tell them if this is the best they can do, to just keep it, because I sure as hell won't have it taking up valuable room in my house....and I sure don't want any of my friends to see me carrying it!
What a dissapointment. They once used to produce some really nice knives. I suppose that's when Camillus made them for them. But they've sure went to hell in a handbasket since those days.
"This ain't Dodge City....and you ain't Bill Hickock!"
