The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

This has got to be one of my favorite Camillus made knives. It has a Craftsman tang stamp that was a Imperial pattern made by Camillus. Gdog has one also and he can tell you to they are just a good solid knife and a very cool set of blades.
This has to be my most favorite Camillus that I own right now but if I can find a mint Camillus BSA Whittler in the packaging that is subject to change.
Very nice bone handle, nice shield, match striker long pull, made in the 1990s. This one is new in the box.

....I would still like to know if these were done for smkw????....anybody know???, I had one of these, I think I gifted it to jerryd, I just can't stand blade etch's........... ..............
Yes they were done for SMKW. They had other patterns also made in the same bone and it is the same bone that all the silver bullet knives are done in. I have saw a 69 done with the same bone and etch. I'm not sure how many other patterns they had made. They had them made right, look at the 3 pins and I already pointed out the match striker. I could have lived without the etch but I think it is a nice touch.
I got the information from a call to SMKW the lady could not tell me how many patterns they had made like this one.

Politicians should be like a good pocket knife ." Sharp and useful "
..I have the one with no etch, and the 100th. anniv. knife. I did gift the old smoky to jerryd!!!..getting hard to remember stuff!!!!...... ............
Picked up another camillus today not sure what I got. Master blade has the three line straight camillus secondary has three line curved camillus. That dates it to 1916 per a chart that jerryd6818 posted for me. Is it factory, repaired, or ??? What say ye gentlemen? My old camera won't give me a clear picture of the tang stamps. Missing the shield for some time as the scales are wore about smooth where it was.
.........rich, that's a good one!!!......I've got one I've had several years, blades are not full, but it still snaps like a Doberman!!!............... .................

.........keith, your box and papers are in a lot better condition than mine!!!..nice!!!..... ........here's something that has always confused me about this knife.it does not have the 1976 tang stamp!!...it has the over and under lines, which I think was the 1987 to 2007 stamp!!...did they have this tang stamp in 1976, and only use it on all knives starting in 1987????.......... ......................
jerryd6818 wrote:Yeah Tommy, this knife confuses the bejesus out of me too and for much the same reasons you posted.
....jerry, I wonder if they created that tang stamp for that whittler??.....the 100th anniv. stockman has the slanted block-letter Camillus with a full line underneath!!.....I get more confused every day on these tang stamps!!!!................ ...........................

I have these two knives
Both knives came with two papers. I scanned them from both sides.
Pay attention to the text and design these papers.

I received a reply to my email from Tom Williams:
I think that the AAPK members are confused about this knife. This is not a 100th anniversary knife for Camillus Cutlery Co. but rather relates to the etching of the wildfowl on the blade. I can not remember the name of the organization that Camillus made this knife for but I think that it was related to a wildfowl conversation group.
Camillus made two 100th anniversary knives that were the models #100 and #200. These knives had ivory colored handles, slant bolsters, special blade etching and a serial number engraved on the bolster. Approximately 10,000 of each model were produced. I remember selling many of these knives and I believe that there were still some of these knives left over when the company closed in 2007. I have attached a scan of the catalog sheet showing these knives.
