Winchester Knives

I received a small Winchester logo lockback knife (w/immitation stage handles) as a gift a couple years ago. I snooped around on the internet and learned it was a fairly inexpensive knife (maybe $15.) that I figured was probably made in China. Didn't expect much from as far getting an edge on it, or it holding the edge. My wifes a dog groomer and has hair cutting scissors and elec, trimmer blades proffesionally resharpened about once a month. And I gave her the knife to have the guy sharpen. And boy did he. Not only did he get it SHARP, but it has held the edge. And I've used it alot. So now I'm curious, who makes these Winchester knives? Maybe it's not as much of a cheap junk as I thought?

Yes I do. It says Carolina Knife & Tool, Portland Ore. Made in China.

Like you mentioned they are made at a factory in China...imported to the U.S. by Gerber (who is owned by Fiskars)...very often found in WalMart or sporting goods stores.

On a side note, Carolina Knife and Tool once belonged, at least in part, to the legendary Walter "Blackie" Collins.

Fal, some Winchesters made by Blue Grass Cutlery in Ohio under license.
this one is a 1996, and I have a BGC Winchester from 1991 enroute.
I haven't studied the Winchester history as much as many in here, but the BGC Winchesters are AOK in my book.
