Done anyone have any idea about this tang stamp?
It has iron bolsters (I think) and wood handles.
Hefty old knife.
I found some info on Visconti, which supposedly was leftover knives from Joseph Rodgers after WWII.
They were stamped Visconti and sold in Italy.

It is difficult for me to read but it looks like A,Visconti CE and ASSO below which might make it French. The CE abbreviation in French is I believe for "and sons". The bottom section might be an abbreviation for the word "association" but I don't know the French equivalent.JMHO

I read that as A. VISCONTI & E. / ASSO
It's possible the "E" is actually an "F".
I assume ASSO refers to associated or something similar.
Sounds Italian.
