TRUE CONFESSIONS ! ! !

Post by MITCH RAPP »

8) OK! Here's a question I don't think anybody ever asked here on our

little forum. Take the time to count your entire Knife Collection and tell

me your total number of Knives you now own at this very moment. I

know some of you guys probably have a mind boggling amount of

Knives! :mrgreen: I will go first with my meager collection. ::shrug::

Traditional Folders = 156

Tactical Folders = 87

Fixed Blades = 48

Total = 291

Traditional Folders = 6

Tactical Folders = 2

Fixed Blades = 3

Total = 11

How embarassing! :oops:

Do kitchen knives and my wife's knives count? Probably not. Oh well, I'm new. And they are 11 really cool knives!

Heck Mitch, if yours is meager, mine is miniscule! :lol:

Traditional folders - 51
Fixed - 8
Automatic - 1
Total- 60

However, mine is growing with leaps and bounds! :lol: ::nod:: ::nod:: Kelley

Mitch I have no idea. I have one closet full, the kitchen table is covered. The end tables are covered, the coffee table is covered and under the bed is full of tupperware storage bins full of them and my wife ain't happy one bit.

8) I keep a folder on my computer, titled "Knife Collection" In it I list

each Knife, With a description, the date I bought it, retail price, price I

paid and year knife was made (if possible). I am keeping this record for

my Grandson, who is not yet 2 years old just in case he turns out not to

be a Knife Guy. At least he will know the value of the Knives if he wants

to sell them ::shrug:: ::tu::

What is that little fixed blade to the left of a butterfly/balisong, above a dagger(?), and 4 knives below a tanto?

I hate to admit how many I have and worse than that, I would hate for the little woman to see the number. I keep trying to convince her that it is hard to have too many.
I store most in the safe in nice wooden cigar boxes that I get from a brother-in-law. I keep a list like mentioned earlier but I also bought a program on Ebay called the DPC Knife Collector 2.0. It is an easy to use program made especially for collectors of knives, guns, etc. I suspect it may not be compatible with the new Windows Vista but not sure.
Is anyone out there using a program that might serve the purpose for those of us who like to use the computer to track our collections?

Hate to even say it, but right now I have 877 traditional folders, 2 tactical folders and 7 sheath knives. I won't have all of them for long, though, I am going to give most of them to my Sons. I will probably keep 100 or so.
...CCBill...

My Wife even knows about ALL of them. ::nod::

:oops: :oops: Ah, er, how many can fit into a 5ft tall, 30inch wide fireproof safe and another 100 or so at the shop and I suppose that many around my office and a few Canal Street Cutlery displays. Oh and about 60 GEC knives, about 20 will go to my son, :oops: :roll: Oh yeah, uh some customs about a dozen fixed blades and a bunch of folders, a full set of Case Cranberry bone, only made in 2001 & 2002. I was thinking of customizing those with California Jade and selling them. It's a brittle and hard rock that has titanium in it. Michael Prater loved the stuff, but he could only make it glow red and eat Aluminum Oxide belts, but I believe I found the answer to using it. ::dang:: Dang, a couple dozen Fightn' Bull knives over on a shelf with a bunch of Buck Kalingas. :oops: :oops: Ahh, gee, there's some in the closet, waiting to come out I suppose. :mrgreen: :lol: Then, dang, I gotta count, they don't all fit in the safe. This doesn't count, ah, there is no such thing as TOO MANY, RIGHT!

What ever happened to the easy questions? I'd have to say about 90 folders,maybe 10 or 12 fixed and a few tac's. They do add up don't they?

Two years ago, over 1,200 pieces, I have sold &/or traded since then so I think now my total amount is pretty close to CC Bills amount & most are folders! ....My Gal knows about all of them (no fear)! ::nod::

8) Hey! Guys; Thanks to all of you who took the time to answer this

question. I knew some of you had too many knives to count and a Ball

Park figure was Great! The reason I asked this question was to see how

Bad my Addiction was in relation to the rest of the members. :mrgreen:

So tonight I will take two knives and call the Doctor in the morning! :lol:
