camillus #72

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

Lol! I figured one of y'all was set least watching it. I really didn't need to buy another knife right now, but it was too cheap to pass up.

Is that a good enough excuse?

Cuz, the only reason you got that one for that bargain basement price was because I'm sick and asleep at the wheel. I had plans on bringing that one home but spent so much time in the little house behind the big house it slipped my mind until it was long gone.

Congratulations. The brown handles don't come up real often (although I did just get one from Scott). That combo was a real steal and deal. I'm super glad to see one of my 72 cronies get it.

Cuz, just remember to use the right combination of red and white corncobs, and drink plenty of buttermilk. It's good for your belly ya know!

Yep I was shocked as all get out to get that one for the price I did. I just knew one of y'all was a bidding on it. I didn't know that about the brown bone either, I'm glad I've got one in the collection now!

Well, it's not bone. It's just a brown synthetic. I'm almost as tickled for you as I would have been for me had I gotten that lot for that price. ::handshake::

Just got finished putting the Lansky system to work on the 72. Just as I figured all three blades are now hair splitters.

This is going to be a fun one to whittle with :D

not that I have any talent when it comes to whittling but I do like to make sticks into smaller sticks etc. ::tu::

Somewhat like when I was actively doing woodworking. My friends would say, "what ya makin'?" and I'd say, "sawdust".

Yeah Grant. You're just a tad behind me but we don't have to worry, Ray (Palidan) will always have us beat. I wonder who's the oldest on the forum.

Well, occasionally us young pups sneak a bone past the big dogs! Here mine. This is the one that was in the lot with the four line Camillus scout. She's tight, snappy, and full blades. It's a winner!

I received thie knife today and it was sold as a Camillus.I paid more for the postage than the knife .I have a idea where it was made.It looks to have two pinns through the bolster one to hold the bolster to the lining.
What do you think.
Edit
I contacted the seller and asked where he arrived at the Camillus name .They came back with the favourite line .I am not a knife expert. I was being ugly about the whole thing. With a 100% feedback they know what they are doing.
I have not given feedback yet just contacted them.
Here is the listing:(I was not going to show the listing till the seller stared to tell me what to do.)

Did they ask for the knife back? Sometimes it's not worth the hassel and they say just keep it.

Jerry and Dale when I put the claim in the seller would not answer the emails.
Ebay just refunded the money and did not ask me to send the knife back.

Well you can't beat that! Good on ya holding their feet to the fire!

I just bid in this little beauty. It's my first one with the BSA shield. It's got some rust, but I think it'll clean up real nice after the spa treatment. The best part was with the eBay bucks we had it cost me a whole $0.83 out of pocket. I love eBay bucks!

You're right. These 72's are really going up. Some of the BIN prices I see are just ridiculous.
