Scary Mint!

This KeenKutter Hawkbill knife looked so new when I unpacked it today, I though it was cleaned or counterfeit! But it's got what appear to be factory finishes, and it looks like the same pattern as the worn Walden next to it, except for the rat-tail groove in the bolsters. So I am pretty sure it's a Schrade product. But please comment, as I just haven't looked at enough of these yet to feel confident.

Dang Charlie, kut me some slack, I think I'm doing good to find a flat butt keen kutter and you post one with purtier handles thats drop dead mint. I'm bout ready to just give up

That is one FINE looking hawkbill and definately a schrade product, I would guess early walden or late cut co era.

When I was your age, I only had 2 or 3 knives!! And 2 out of 3 probably had hollow handles

It is correct EC Simmons used the Keen Kutter logo since 1868 . These knives were made by ( to name a few ) Napanoch, Walden, Schrade, and quite a few others. Yours seems correct for a late Schrade issue. LT PS the marking on the back of the blade KS was used into the post 72 Schrade era. PPS When I was his age I had no toys or playmates and had to play with myself. Which I guess explains alot. PPS looking again that wood was the last version they used. mid seventys to 80tys. PPPS speaking of Keens here is the case i brought back from NYC. We did get it in the house and now must find room for all I displaced here are some pics of some of the stuff going in it. A fraction. I thought i would have to use the hatchet to get it in the house. Have not had time to fill it just clean it up a bit. Sorry for the pics. Amazing how much Keen you find over the years I am going to mix some other stuff in the case since it takes up so much room . It is a nice old piece glad it did not end up in a dump. I thought I would show it since the Keen was brought up.

One of the many reasons KeenKutter brand was such a success is the absolutely cool logo!! The products are legendary, but the logo was the icing on the marketing cake!!
That's gonna be a nice display, LT; great case!

Here's another one that's very mint. I guess I'm lucky. There was a time when these knives were beyond my reach, but as you get older, and give your kids the boot (in a nice way), you can sometimes free up a little cash to own something you have to insure 'cause it scares you a little to own it!!
