I have a Case with a6254 on the blade. How old is this knife?

6254 identifies your Case knife as a Trapper, with 2 blades and either bone or delrin scales or handles. The tang stamp on the mark side where the brand name CASE is located will tell you more about the age of your knife. If it was made after 1970 you should be able to know the year of mfg. by the Case dating system. Prior to that, most Case knives are identified as made during a certain era rather than exact year. A good close, clear close up picture will probably get you an answer here on AAPK.

Sure it's not SS? If it is SS then it could mean Stainless Steel.

I think the A in the pattern number is for Appaloosa bone.
