Ethnic folders

Post by jjp7216 »

I have a lot of bling & more of HD outdoor use stuff - This stuff is easy and found in abundance. My new years challenge to myself is to do an economy ethnic folder collection; Most local & popular knives are due to accessibility and price (my thinking has been wrong before). Examples I have located & targeted thus far are OKAPI - South Africa, Nokami - Japan, K55 - Germany. I am open to suggestions on locals, types & if you have something you think I need. ::dang::

::welcome:: I've dabbled in ethnic knives myself in the past. The problem I had was there were so many to choose from. I think something that may help you in your endeavor would be to first look at knives from different countries and narrow it down to the ones you like best. This website would be a good place to start:

http://www.worldknives.com/

It has knives from many different countries. I've bought a few knives from that website before, and most were good quality. Good luck with your search. ::tu::

Always looking for vintage knives with Virginia, Maryland, or Washington D.C. tang stamps. Any condition.

Spain and France are two more countries where lot´s of ethnic knives can be found.
I know the following ethnic/work knives from Germany:

-Otter Messer
- Lütters Löwen Messer
- Feitel knives (not a brand but a style)
- Mercator

Then there is the north african Douk-Douk and the japanese Higonokami.

OMG, it´s knives again!
