Re: Mail Call, Post Your New GECs.
Here's my new Hayn' Helper which is pretty cheesy etch IMO, but it's part of Farm and Field Tool line with Nifebrite handles. Surprised at how well this built. I was expecting a little play in the blade or lesser quality on these but NO,,, it's still great GEC quality.

Nice hayn' helper, I have that same model in the two blade in black Delrin. I tried to get the nifebrite but they were sold out when they first came out.
I guess I waited too long.

Thanks Ricky, I like what they've done with rounding the bolsters on the ends and it even seems as if the springs aren't as stiff?
nice knife, I haven't compared it to the older beavers but it also seems as if the jigging is somewhat different...
little subtle changes...

It's a neat jigging pattern. I recall 1st seeing it on the ruby red SS lockback 72s. I'm pretty sure this is the 1st time they've done it in wood.Wood-Guy wrote:Yep... I had a stroke of good luck so I rewarded myself. I just ordered it this morning so the picture is Derrick's over at KSF. This is the one I've been drooling over. Let the waiting begin.

Re: Mail Call, Post Your New GECs.
Thanks Trevor or maybe GEC should be thanking you, they're the ones who made it. I was enraptured with the knife from the first moment I saw it. I couldn't pass it up. Buying a GEC is a big deal to me so I'll be on pins and noodles (sic) until it shows up in my mailbox.
Wait!! Incoming alert. I just this very minute received two emails from KSF telling me the knife has shipped and providing a tracking number.

Re: Mail Call, Post Your New GECs.
Thanks Monk. I haven't seen very many of the Stag Improved Trappers. I feel fortunate to be able to buy it for several reasons.
Just taking a shot in the dark here, do you happen to know how many of the Burnt Stag Improved Trappers were made?
Not for me Gus. I prefer the two blade editions. I'm not a fan of Trappers but that Wharncliffe blade, along with that gorgeous toasted Stag, snagged me.
Edit: Something rattled through my brain cage. I thought I remembered there being a single blade 48 made (not a Wharncliffe blade). To me though, with a single blade, it's more a Farmer's Knife than it is a Trapper. JMO

We won't know, till they release the production totals for 2013** ---Looks like they,GEC ""did not"" serialize the Burnt Stag---but serialized the ""Natural Stag""
so here we go again (who knows why they do the things they do ????? )

Jerry, the 48 Improved Trapper is an excellent knife and I'm sure you will love it! The pattern has been made as a single blade Calif. clip, clip and pen, Cal. clip and spey, clip and hip spey, and the improved with the Cal clip and Wharncliffe. There were also a couple stainless versions. They are all damn fine pieces of US cutlery!
There were at least 25 burnt stag IT's made I'm sure.
