New York based importer 1969-1975..
I don't know who made knives for them. Most of them remind me of Henckels and Klaas.

Hey guys! While looking over some knives at a gun & knife show Sunday, I ran across an older gentleman with "a lot" of older knives. They were anywhere from NM to used and abused. I'm talking mid 1800's and up. (I shoulda took pics) He seemed extremely knowledgable about every knife I asked about. This guy was prolly in his mid to late 70's. I ended up back there at least 4 times! Anyway, back on topic, he had a pearl handled Coles NY/Germany carpenters whittler that would knock your eyes out. Some of the finest pearl that I ever seen. When I asked about it, he proceeded to tell me that Coles was the house brand for Abercrombie & Fitch, imported by Coles, made by Hen & Rooster. I don't know if all that is correct or not, but that is what he told me. Anyway I'll post pics in a couple days because I just had to have it.

It all sounds right on to me from what I have been able to find out about the com. The are very well made knives with top of the line handle material used.
I got to find my pic of the 4in stockman I have done in stag.just a solid old knife with some real nice stag.
