Years ago dad broke the clip blade of this old Frost trapper just about down to the nail nick. He gave it to my 8 year old the other day and I thought I'd see what I could do with the old belt sander.
There wasn't much that could be done with it so I made it into a little drop point. I also had to level it out some as most of the blade loss was by the tang. Then I dehorned it a bit. I'll smooth it out some when my finer grit belts get here. The tip sits well below the handles and is a lot pointier than shows up against the red background.

Colonel,
That's all right, good job! It's neat to reprofile a broken blade and make an older knife come back to life! It might not appeal to some folks but it is a usable knife, a lot better than no knife at all

There ya go Cuz. That'll get the job done. If you take a notion, hit it again on the sander & knock that hump off. You'll have yourself a short Wharncliffe. That'd be cool.

Cuz, I thought about that, but if was too skeert to get real close to the nail nick. I might try that though.
But that hump does kind if give it that Spyderco look. Sort of a tactical trapper! Lol
