Hello, new on AAPK

hello,
I'm Stan from Paris (France). I'm collecting and use pocket knives since many years (~30)
I have discover this forum by searching forum dedicated to folding/pocket knives
my english is very bad so you should apologies me for this

I myself speak only Arkansas, but the guys around here put up with me - you will be fine. Mostly we speak cutlery - Opinel, for one.

to Ringmaster : opinel is not my favorite but it's a good knife, easy to sharp, easy to use and you are not worry when you lost one

Understood about the Opinel, Stan... but hey ! If Opinel is good enough for Bill Moran, it's sure good enough for me !! (Moran was a giant, among American Bladesmiths, if you're not familiar with him, Stan).

Tell us, what IS your favorite, nowadays ? Let us see some quality French cutlery.

actually (and it's only my opinion) i like very much François Bignon (french custom maker) ( http://www.atelier-solognot.com/ ) and Eric Parmentier (belgium custom maker) (he has no website but you can see some at http://forum.couteauxzen.net/viewtopic.php?t=1799 it's a french forum where i post often)
for industrial manufacture i like perceval (have a look to http://www.couteau.com/ )

.Im sure you'll enjoy it here, but be careful, lots of beautiful knives get posted here, which you will suddenly discover you cant live without.It can get expensive.
