Iroquois and Seneca Knives

You're welcome. But I don't think tang stamps are very important for these brands. Nobody fakes them. All Seneca and Iroquois knives date from about 1932 to 1942. And as a wise knife sage once said, read the knife, not the stamp.

If you go back to the very first knife in this thread, you can see that "Cutlery Co." is spelled out, instead of just "Cut. Co."

So that's at least 5 different stamps for Iroquois. I will have to investigate Seneca some more...

If you go back a couple of pages in this thread, I posted a couple of knives with cap lifters, an Iroquois and a Camillus. The Iroquois has serrations on the cap lifter, and there was some questions on whether these were original or added by a previous owner.

I found this 1930s Utica on e-bay today (I didn't bid on it, just saved the picture), and you can see the cap lifter has the same cap lifter with the same serrations as mine. I believe Utica and Iroquois were sister brands. Based on this, I am assuming the serrations were put on the cap lifter in the factory.

Here's an unusual Seneca I purchased yesterday for $3.50.Stamp says,"Pat.apld. Seneca Cut.Co." The patent application is for(I believe) the closed back that is one piece with the liners and the bolsters are stamped into the liners.Lot of blade wear and the cel handles are starting to curl but I stabilized the cracks with super glue and cleaned it a bit. First knife I ever bought with a closed back.

I saw this old thread while looking for Seneca knives, from Utica NY. I just picked up this old Seneca Scout knife.

I see this is also an Iroquois thread. I ask about those this morning. Looks like this thread was the place to come for Iroquois knives too....
This one has been "rode hard and put up wet" but you know I had to have it anyway.

Not too recently, this pocket knife arrived in a group or lot of pocket knives that I bought. It now becomes my first example to be posted under this topic or thread. I did NOT buy the group or lot of pocket knives to obtain this particular pocket knife. But, it did turn out to be a keeper. This pocket knife did get added to my general, pocket knife accumulation. It is an IROQUOIS, two blades, one tang stamp, 3 1/8" closed, tipped bolsters, two springs, pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "IROQUOIS (over) MADE IN U.S.A." The main blade does NOT have a half stop. The main blade does NOT have an opening snap. The main blade does NOT have a closing snap. The secondary blade has a WEAK half stop. The secondary blade has a WEAK opening snap. The secondary blade has NO closing snap. Each of the two handle scales has a small piece missing. This pocket knife is in GOOD condition. This pocket knife needed little cleaning.

The main blade does have a GOOD closing snap. The secondary blade does NOT have a half stop. The secondary blade does NOT have an opening snap. The secondary blade does NOT have a closing snap. This pocket knife is in GOOD condition. This pocket knife required VERY minor cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

New to this forum, first post. I was recently on YouTube and saw a pocket knife that I was completely unfamiliar with, an Iroquois brand. It was so unique looking that I had to take a chance and buy it at $10 + shipping. I jumped online and found this group and a thread on Iroquois and Seneca pocket knives. I saw a post from June 2013 from member Dragunski showing a cheap eBay pocket knife. I was stunned, that looked like the pocket knife I just purchased. I naturally had to jump online here and post these pics.
