A prized posession from Dad....

My dad gave me this knife when i got married 11 years ago. I had never seen it before that day. He said he bought it in Alaska when he was stationed there (Navy) during the Vietnam War. (what a place to be during that war). Anyways, it's one of my prized possessions from him that i will never depart with and it will go to one of my daughters or a grandson if/when that day comes. It has spent many a day in our sock drawers.

How about yall????

I am glad to see some one gave a gift to the new family that is not just a girly gift.
I collect Schrades and have many Scrimshaw.
They look so kool to me. All white and black.
In fact I have that were same knife.
She's a hand full. Wife and knife...

Don't know if this counts...how about one I gave to my wife, that she really, really likes and uses? She has never even chased me with it.....well, not yet anyway.

Pop gimme this knife for my B'day, back in 1984. At the time, I was aready a knife dealer, with an inventory of about 1,000 knives... why he thought I needed another one was curious to me, at the time.

As you can tell by looking - it's been one durn good "carrying" knife. I guess the old man was smarter than I gave him credit for ?

I'd trade this knife to get him back, but that's the only way I'll ever let go of it.

i inherited Pop's knives when he passed but heres the last he gave me, its a Parker K-539 and it has some of the best steel in it i've seen.

Things kind of went the other way - when I was working at the Cutlery Shop, I bought my Dad a nice Case PK. And then, when I left the country for a while and stored a few things, the old man glommed a few of my other knives.

He did have an old PK of his own, but it was much worn and a bit clapped out. Needed replacing and upgrading.

My Bro in law has those now.
