Case 6265 w/ serrated blade?

Post by lonestarjeff »

Bryan:

Another old case question. I found another 6265SAB w/ the old frame, drilled for a lanyard. The skinner blade appears to be factory serrated. Did Case build any w/ serrated blades? The saber blade has the '40-'64 on the front tang stamp & model # on the back side, nothing on the skinner blade.

Hello Jeff,

Yes, Pre-1965 6265 patterns with serrated blades do exist, but are fairly rare. The only ones that I know of have "Miracle edge skinner / Bill Boatman & Co." etched on the serrated blade and were made as a special factory order knife. Do you have a picture? I would like to see it!

Bryan:

I can barely see the etching on the blade you mentioned. I'll post a pic on your "anything we haven't seen" page. Doubt you'll be able to make out the etching, though, it's pretty light. See what you think.
