Tactical help, I'm lost.

Alright fellers, I hear ya! Lol!

I have not picked up a tacticool knife yet. Life, sickness, new house, hunting, etc... have gotten the most of my attention of late. Well, those things and the fact that every time I get some tacticool knife money another Ithaca model 37 shotgun or old pocketknife crops up and I loose sight of the tacticool knives.

But from all that I've read here and found in my research, here are the two I'm looking at. The Leek with the frame lock and the paramilitary II. The Leek is in the lead, mainly because of the price and the warncliff blade. I've been packing a GEC warncliff whittler a wile now and I've really come to like it.

I don't want Chinese stuff, yes I know there are lots of things made in China in my house, but I draw the line at firearms and knives.

So, I've just done a round of traditional folder buying, I'm stalking a couple of Ithaca shotguns at the moment, and it's hunting season. So I guess I'm back to square one. I'll start my tacticool fund AGAIN, and hunt for a deal on a Leek. Did I mention that I a cheapskate too? Lol.

The Leek with the frame lock

The Leek I can understand but educate me on the frame lock. What is it about the frame lock that makes it superior in your mind to the liner lock?

BTW, I can accept and understand a "just 'cause".

Well since I won't let my students use a "just because" argument, I'd better explain.

First, I never really liked the looks if a liner lock. I know they work, but I always thought they looked cheesy. But you have to take my opinion with a grain of salt, I'm the one guy in the world who doesn't really like stag scales either so what do I know! Lol!

Second, the frame lock just looks beefier to me. I know that a liner lock is plenty strong for what the knife is intended for, and for anything I'd use it for. But, if I'm gonna have a lock I might as well have a good beefy one. I might be way wrong though.

Now, that's all if I buy new. As I said before, I'm a cheapskate so should a deal come along in a liner lock I'll gladly scoop it up and be darn proud to have it.

While I was typing this, something dawned on me. The only liner locks I've ever had any experience with have been on el cheapo disposable Chinese knives. I've never used a good knife with a liner lock. Maybe is should pick up a liner lock Leek just to be fair and give it a fair shake. Hmmmmmm....... Thanks for making me think this through, I'll go back and give some of those liner locks another look!
