Site Update

Hey guys I've been updating my knife website and trying a new scanning technique. So far I have my Schatt's Robeson's and Fight'n Rooster's up to date. I should have my whole collection up in a few weeks.
I'd love to hear your thoughts, suggestions, or constructive criticism on the site and the new way i'm doing the photos.

Tank your site is awesome. I really enjoyed looking at all the pictures. Great looking photos. Are you going to be updating it occasionally with new photos?

Excellent site Tank.

I noticed you have a few Rough Riders and I'd like to recommend that you try a Steel Warrior. Looking at fit and finish, walk and talk I had to rate the Steel Warrior first, Bulldog second, and Case LAST in the Saddlehorn pattern (2 of each) that I recently bought for a comparison. I guess I should get a couple Rough Riders in the saddlehorn or similar pattern and put them through their paces and see how they rate.

The Case really surprised me, no walk and talk at all, pure slop on both

. I bought some more of those to check out. I will do that when my shoulder heals enough.

Oh yeah, I actually hated the front bolster on the Steel Warrior. But, all in all, it finished on top.

Thanks Hukk, i've been eyeing the steel wariors because of the big case-like spey blade. About RR's, not collectible but the fit n finish rivals many US made (coughnewcasecough). I recieved that set as a birthday present.

Nice layout...cool site.

I would only say that when I looked at your nice Schrade knives, I could pretty much tell that Taylor Brands had nothing to do with those knives, as he didn't buy the Imperial Schrade intellectual property until the end of 2004.

Here is a great site, created by one of our own (lrv), with lots of Schrade information to sift through.

Thanks Bill I'm ashamed of those Schrade pics. They are all cleaned up now and will be posted along with the other Schrades i've recently bought.

I really like the opening page with the nostagic image......it is my belief that nostagia is one reason us crazy collectors enjoy this passion as much as we do. Yesyerday can be brought back ....even if only in images.

More of us should have this kind of personal website...keep up the good work........there is no cure!!!

Thanks Bill, thats a photo from 1906. The town is Hamburg Tn. it borders the Shiloh Civil War Park, right on the Tn River. I have lived here all my life. At one time the town of Hamburg had 16 houses, 2 general stores, a bank, a cotton gin, a post office, a hotel and a gambling house. Now all thats left is two houses. If it wasn't for the photo you would never know it existed. Such a shame.

edit/ just one question : why do say "German Eye knives" for Schliepper Knifes ? this is only the logo for Karl Schliepper compagnie

Stanciaman the German Eye Brand is owned by Carl Schlieper. They are made in the Olbertz factory in Solingen, along with Bulldog, Weidmannsheil, Indian Head, Shapleigh, and Fight'n Rooster.

Around here, the locals call them "Rising Eye" knives, just because they didn't even want to TRY to pronounce Schlieper...

Darn good knives, tho'. I've still got a Baby Butterbean, with jigged black bone.
