Pocket knife hoarder and rookie collector

Post by Dave158552 »

Hello everyone! I must admit that I've already posted a couple of questions without visiting this thread for new members. I'm interested in any knives that will be increasing in value to pass on to my son ect. I'm a huge Case fan in all styles. I only have about 10 Case knives that have been given as gifts. None of them are very old, ten years at best. Anyway, there is a vast amount of knowledge on this site and I'm intrigued to get started, make some friends, and hoard some more knives.

Dave -- Welcome to AAPK. Glad to have you aboard.

Hoarder is such an ugly word. I prefer accumulator. Makes me appear more sophisticated but not as pretentious as collector.

Hi Dave! Welcome.

It appears that the limited edition knives by Spyderco, SOG, Kershaw, may be the trend for collecting in the future......

Welcome Dave, yes, accumulator sounds much better.

Beware, Pocket Knives can get into your blood, but oh what fun.

So, have fun, and welcome aboard.

I have 11 Case knives, 3 of them quite old, the rest maybe 20 yrs old. None for sale - sorry.

For me, it has negative connotations. Visions of rooms packed with newspapers stacked chest high, empty 12 pack cartons, beanie babies bought off ebay, sacks of unworn clothes with the tags still attached and piles of pizza boxes. An attitude of, "this is all mine and you can't have any of it."

To varying degrees, that's what hoarder means to me. ::shrug::

Well I guess I could sell all of my unworn clothes and beanie babies on ebay, then ship them in the empty 12pack cartons and pizza boxes, wrapped in nwspaper. Then i'll have extra money to accumulate more knives and more room to store them

I do share and occasionally give things away. I'm saving them all from being turned into Chinese junk through modern recycling programs. We're not all bad. ::tu:: Take it easy Jerry it's all just a joke

Thanks for the welcome Knife Nut. I've always liked pocket knives, but I've never truly been bitten by the bug until now. I can't go into any store without seeing what's there.

Have to admit the OP's Subject Line pretty well fits me , mostly Case. Now, to just become more knowledgeable about them. Lot's of learning here.
