KaBar Mark 2

Post by tac803 »

I thought it would be fitting for my first post to pay tribute to the Men and Women who served in WW2, especially those (like my Dad) who was proud to serve in the US Navy. I wanted to share pics of my KaBar Mark 2, that began manufacture around 1943 and was issued to UDT personnel, the "grandfathers" of the SEALS. It has some minor wear and there is a crack on the tip of the sheath, as well as some corrosion on the strap ends on the sheath, but I hope I'm in as good a shape at the age of 70!

To all who put it on the line for our Country, a heartfelt thanks!

Welcome to AAPK. Glad to have you aboard. Grab a rack, stow your gear and report for duty.

Love those Mark IIs and that's a fine one. I'm guessing that one has the USN stamp on it???

Affirmative, has the USN stamped on one side of the hilt, and Ka Bar stacked on the other side. Thanks for the welcome aboard.
