Need Help Identifying Fixed Blade Knife 403
Can anyone identify this knife? It seems to have the number 403 on the blade.
Thanks very much!

Greetings Nate,
Although I do not know who made your knife, the style seems to draw from the knives made by John E. K. during the 1940's.
Hopefully someone will be able to shed light on this.

Hey, thanks for the reply. I can see what you are talking about. It's a really solid heavy knife. This is the first fixed blade knife I've bought.

EK immediately came to mind. I wonder if it is a theater knife i.e. someone took an EK and modified it.

I've read the history of E. K. knives now and there are some similaries. Wood handle, full tang, tang extended out beyond the grip. However, the rivets are not poured lead as was the case in the E.K. knives. They are brass. So, this seems wrong. I've asked the experts at the E.K. Company to weigh in and if they are kind enough to do so, maybe we'll all learn something.

It`s a throwing knife, not a combat knife made by John EK, I am certain it is of German manufacture.
