Wards Knife

I have read that one of the contractors who made knives for wards was Winchester
I got this knife because I thought I might get lucky
but I wanted it because it is in good condition and I wanted to research it and find out who did make it
it say made in USA under Wards on the main blade, 385 on the other side of main
I can't make anything out on the smaller blade
it is 3 5/8 cigar jack, real bone, brass liners , NS bolsters, in my novice opinion

the tip has corrosion you can feel, on inexpensive knives I use buffing and paint removing wheels on my dremel tool, which freaks out many here, LOL
I can use 2000 grade fine emery cloth or fine steel wool, it is soaking in WD40 now, another no-no till I get mineral oil
Love those Wards of yours FRJ, a equal end cattle and a reverse dog leg jack?
that end bolster is very nice, looks like you 'gently' cleaned them, the NS bolsters really shine, what did you do to them?

I can't think of the last time I cleaned a knife. It's not something I normally do.
I sharpen them and pack them and use them. That gets them pretty spiffy in time.

Here is a real Winchester cattle knife with a left over Napanoch punch blade stamped PAT'D 4/7/08.
