Hello Griz followers!

Bright and early tomorrow I'm heading north for a week of bowhunting in the northwoods of Wisconsin. I'll be staying in a log cabin with electricity but no running water...and no internet access. So I won't be able to post updates, but Griz is going to get some good field time in for sure. I'll take lots of pics and post up when I get back next week.
I'll be keeping in touch via cell phone with a fellow Devil Dog lister and he agreed to post a few pics here in this thread for me so we can get some real time updates for anyone interested! So stay tuned and we'll see what happens....

Good luck Mike - hope it's a great week out amongst em!
Deep in the guts of most men is buried the involuntary response to the hunter's horn, a prickle of the nape hairs, an acceleration of the pulse, an atavistic memory of his fathers, who killed first with stone, and then with club...Robert Ruark

Message from Mike.

"Made it up safely...raining all afternoon. Woods wet, quiet and dark. Sitting in a ground blind overlooking two intersecting trails. No action yet to report."

Wednesday November 6th update from Mike.

"Got about a half inch of fluff this morning, woods are all white now. Still dreary and cold though...I love it! Going to be lots of deer moving today, rut kicking in, bucks on the prowl chasin the girlies..."

I think Mike is bored and lonely.

He says:

"Moved to new location...20 feet up in a treestand inside a field edge. Looks deery!"

He made a little video and sent it. To watch Mike's video Click Here.

Mike said he did see a big buck today but had no shot (he's bow hunting). Same with the doe he saw later. He did manage to get a picture of some turkeys he saw. This picture was taken of the camera screen with his cell phone. Not the best but you get the idea.

Sure looks like it. He said that big buck passed within 40 yards of him. Dead deer during rifle season. I told him he should have shot him with a pistol and stuck an arrow in the hole.
