here is a little imperial knife that a good friend gave me today on the tang it says imperial england with a little crown above the I in imperial i have never seen one made in england what can anybody tell me about it

What I can tell you is that's a good friend 'cause that's a very nice Imperial.
I remember reading something recently, saying some were made in England but you'll have to wait on the experts to get the details.

I've never seen an "Imperial England" stamp. Very interesting knife.

thanks jerry and philco ya me and brad my friend have been friends for about twenty years he knows that i collect knives so whenever he runs across one at a good price he will pick it up for me good friends are hard to find these days

It was a very short lived venture for Imperial. They did operate a factory there for a couple of years, I think it was in the late 60's or early 70's. I have 2 or 3 with the England stamp, all are smaller pen knives.
Not real sure, but I believe it ties in with the Richards brand. Either Imperial bought them out, or they bought out Imperial. Either way, you don't come across too many with the England stamp.

Imperial started making knives in England in 1980. I don't know when they stopped. Cool knife.

thanks guys for the info i was digging through some knives and dug up one that is identical same handles same blades and same shield the only difference is the one that was made in the USA is just a little bit longer and the big blade is just a little longer but other than that they are both the exact same knife ill post pics tomorrow when i have good light
