A Personal Request

There are times in each of our lives that rain falls, hard times come and it helps to reach out to our friends and to our God for a little support. This is the place to express those needs, concerns and situations so others in the AAPK family can keep you in their prayers.

That was almost four months ago Phil, what's happened since then? Did they stint you or pump you full of pills and adopt the wait and see and hope attitude? That's some serious business my friend.

After putting me on the new meds, the cardiologist had me go through a bunch of tests and also sent me to see a pulmonologist (lung specialist) to have my COPD condition evaluated. That doctor put me on supplemental oxygen full time. I had been using it while I sleep for several years prior to that.
Going around with a hose in my nose all the time has been something of an adjustment but so far it's been manageable. I have a home unit and also a portable oxygen concentrator that I can carry with me or use in the car. I'm still going where I want and working every day.
With all the newly gleaned information the cardiologist decided he didn't think it was worth the inherent risk involved to try to reopen the blocked artery as opposed to continuing to treat me with meds. I'm due back next month for a follow up.

Once again I'd like to thank each of you for your prayers. With your support and Gods help I'm doing fine.

The oxygen thing isn't very sexy but it's a heck of a lot better than the alternative. Glad to hear you're on a "plan" that will keep you around longer.

Philco, You ain't got enough gray in your mustache and chin whiskers to be eligible to wear that oxygen device! Praying that our Lord will continue to bless you with strength to get through a rough place in the road. ::pray::

I'm glad you're hanging there and they don't think it's too dangerous to leave in place as-is.

Let's hope next month will bring a more positive outlook. BTW, that's a lovely lady you have there. ::tu::

Phil, I'm betting that the little grand daughter makes you want to take good care of yourself. Been there and done it. All the best. ::tu::

Thanks Will. I appreciate your prayers and your kind words.

Perhaps another update is in order. I'm scheduled to go in this coming Wednesday for some work. The cardiologist is going to attempt to reopen the totally blocked artery, and if successful, install a stint to keep it open. I've been in prayer about this myself and feel good about moving forward with it.

Prayers going your way.

I'm just an observer of the medical scene but am very favorably impressed with your cardiologist whose first call was to try and work with the collateral vessels your heart was developing. Too many doctors immediately go for the big invasive procedures.

Let us here some good news. Peace to you and your bride friend.

The Lord has blessed the medical community to have the knowledge and skill to repair these bodies, both young and old as they experience difficulties. Praying that the stint procedure will be successful for you Philco!.

Thanks to each and every one for your prayers. I got back home just a few hours ago and, after a much needed nap, I'm up and stirring. I've got two new stints installed in the previously blocked artery and I feel good. Everything went very, very well. I know that God was with me throughout that process as He continues to be. I also know that your prayers, along with those of others, made a tremendous difference. God is good ! So are friends like you. I am blessed. :)
