Jerry you are looking at pitting and shadowing, a patina illusion. This may have some kind of stamp marking but I'd bet my left shoe it is "not" Remington. The shield is not a Remington crest design shield. Rocky

That's a definite 'M' which is not corrosion.

I agree, but as for the Remington tang stamp is does not match for the examples that Stewart and Richie provide nor from the Remington cutlery catalog or the Remington/ Dupont catalog examples.
Lettering size, shape, angle and design are incorrect for Remington. Rocky

This Friday the 19th my boy Samuel turns 11....and did he ever get hit today with an early birthday bomb!

Quite the wide assortment of goodies included in this one, the black Wenger being the centerpiece, with custom filework by Junebug himself, truly a tough lookin' knife, great work Josh!
Also some handcrafted arrowheads, a mini scout style knife, a keychain knife, a carabiner, a very unique deer antler ferro rod combo, some skull beads, a Japanese letter opener, a flaming skull money clip/knife, and old heirloom spoon that Josh has had since he was a youngster....and a monkeyhead patch that seems to remind Josh of yours truly for some unknown reason!
