I know that your saying Carrrillus but my tool box knives get used quite a bit and they are oiled monthly I have something about my Barlows being in my tool-boxes she IS such a Working knife

Thanks for the info and the bail suggestions. Here's another one I picked up today four line 1941-1946. Master blade replaced with a case xx 3 inches closed 5 1/16 open. What is the style called and does anyone have the correct blade for it...Thanks

The style is called a "Gun-Stock" pattern. Don't have a blade though. Why do you say it is a CAMILLUS? If it is CAMILLUS and the secondary blade is four-line stamped, it would date to 1916-1941 era. This is per Goins Encyclopedia of Cutler Markings. The earliest CAMILLUS catalog that I can look at (1946) does not show a gun-stock pattern. Maybe secondary blade replaced and it is a CASE knife??

I'm with you T.J. I haven't seen all the knives that Camillus made but I've seen a bunch and I've never seen a Camillus Gunstock. I believe you are correct and that knife is a Case that has the secondary blade replaced.

Ya know, Jerry, it seems whenever there is a broken blade in a two-blade jack, it's usually the secondary. At least from my observations.

Secondary blade is stamped camillus. As loose as the master blade is I thought it was the one replaced. Good thing I didn't pay a lot for it guess I have a good conversation piece and a lesson on camillus knives thanks guys.

Probably worth more as a CASE knife than a CAMILLUS and may be easier to find a CASE secondary blade. Blade loseness can be fixed. Looks to have very nice bone handles.

First became somewhat educated with the brand by Dale here and then when I went to the Eugene show, back in 2012, I was hooked for good. Dale was willing to sell me some of his EOs then he showed me this little yellow and red plastic spaceship knife with a whistle in the end at the show. We had a great time just sitting and talking knives for 2 whole days, it was the best time I ever had at a knife show! Anyway, I got back home and went on the hunt for these CAMCOs almost immediately. Was able to find a couple that still had the original rubber/plastic leashes that came with them. The oldest I own is this EO in ebony.

Handles are beautiful bone master blade is savable. I'll add it to my winter project pile. Anyone have a secondary blade for a case gunstock

.........love the last 3!!!.....I have the first two, and a jack somewhat like the last one, except it doesn't have the eo notch and the front bolster is more rounded.....it is the early 3 line stamp-is the ebony knife 3 line stamped??................. ...................

Thanks Orvet the easy open notch doesn't line up with the nail pull on the blade that's why I didn't think it was right maybe did it that way so you can open it with gloves on?

I think you are right Rich.
In the pic below you see 3 M. Klein on the left, probably made by Utica.
On the right are 3 Camillus small rope knives.
The one on top with wood handles and a long pull is a Kingston on which someone has rounded off the front edge of the blade.

Note that EO notch is not lined up with the pull on any of the 3 brands.
I just checked a Kutmaster I had in the shop and looks just like the M. Klein.

I would say if a guy is working with rope enough to need a rope knife he is probably wearing gloves a lot of the time.
The nail nick is worthless with gloves on, but the EO notch near the end of the knife where the blade sits highest makes it much easier for gloved hands to open the knife.

.same mark as mine!!..goin's says 1915-1918 for the straight 3 line on all blades!!...mine has half stops on both blades, and it snaps like a Doberman at the half stop and closing!!!...you got a great old knife there!!!............ ............

Just got this pruner today. 4 line stamp and a Sword Brand etch on the blade. Looks like it's never even been sharpened. I've not come across many pruners this age or older, of any make, that are so full. Still needs a good cleanout inside and some oiling but I'm very happy with it.

Just received another CAMILLUS scout/utility, with no under-line stamp (1946-195?), that I bought off Ebay the other day. Per the 1946 CAMILLUS catalog the actual designation for the knife is "Navy and Coast Guard General Utility Knife". The knife has the "shrinky-dink" handles as Jerry calls them, but it doesn't appear to have been carried or sharpened. I talked to Elvis and he said he would come out of retirement and re-handle it for me if I buy him an expensive lunch Anyway, nice knife with good snap opening and closing, all for $9.00 including shipping.

Here's another one, the same pattern and stamp, that Bob did for me a while ago. These lunches are killing me

This little Camillus 14 Jack came today. About as close to factory fresh as you can get. Still has the factory grind on the blades and was probably made in the '70s since the handles are pinned. At 3-3/8" closed, it's a sweetie. It would make a perfect carry.
